DHV BV provides consulting and engineering services worldwide in the area of mobility (including airports), construction and manufacturing, spatial planning, environment and water. DHV BV has some 4,700 employees internationally; its 2007 revenue was EUR 395 million. DHV BV's headquarters in the Netherlands is in Amersfoort.
DHV undertakes many multidisciplinary soil projects, in the Netherlands and abroad, and it is thus important that the project data be well managed and administered. Many people supply it, and many others use it. This means it is also vital that the ICT environment be well organised.
DHV has used I.T. Works' solutions since the 1990s. In 1996 DHV began to use field computers and BoorManager, the predecessor of TerraIndex. DHV BV dropped its field work department in 2001 and intensified its use of BoorManager.

In 2006, DHV BV was one of the first I.T. Works customers to switch over to TerraIndex through a datacentre. All five of DHV's offices in the Netherlands work with TerraIndex. The move to TerraIndex made the application available to all employees everywhere and from each worksite in the Netherlands and around the world.
DHV BV needs only enable an internet connection to work with TerraIndex. I.T. Works has taken on from DHV the care for the entire application administration for Terra Index. Where software updates and having them work properly with the correct versions of the lab applications once was a constant source of irritation and an unmanageable cost item, these were zeroed out by using TerraIndex through a datacentre. I.T. Works makes all software updates and is responsible for the data transport (laboratory assignment and the import of results of analysis) to the selected lab.
Our experience with I.T. Works' proactive approach to finding custom solutions within projects has been very positive. Problems with processing or visualizing soil data are handled well, which means that we need not sell the response “not possible” to our own clients. We have also found the implementation of ideas from the market due to changing law and regulations as very positive.
By making good use of the possibilities offered by TerraIndex, we have organized the ICT environment well, enabling our consultants to concentrate fully on the project itself. TerraIndex makes our work process more effective.
